Facial Paralysis Treatment in Tolichowki Hyderabad

Facial paralysis is a sudden weakness or drooping on one side of the face caused by dysfunction of the facial nerve. The most common cause is Bell’s palsy, an idiopathic inflammation of the nerve. The good news: most cases recover fully and recovery is significantly better when treatment begins within the first 72 hours.

At Dr. Abdul Aziz ENT Super Specialty Clinic in Tolichowki, Hyderabad, we provide urgent evaluation and treatment for facial paralysis, ensuring patients receive steroids, antivirals and physiotherapy at the right time for the best outcomes.

Overview

The facial nerve controls muscles of expression, eye closure and taste sensation. When inflamed or damaged, it causes sudden one‑sided drooping. Bell’s palsy is the most common cause, resolving over weeks to months with early treatment.

Other causes include Ramsay Hunt syndrome (shingles affecting the nerve), middle‑ear or parotid infections, trauma and rare tumours. Clinical examination, imaging and audiometry help distinguish these conditions and guide treatment.

Any sudden facial weakness should be assessed within 24 hours to rule out stroke and begin steroids before the 72‑hour window closes. Pain or rash near the ear with facial weakness suggests Ramsay Hunt syndrome and requires same‑day evaluation.
